After the exciting antics in the saranda football stadium (aka a modern day Roman ampi-theatre), the team decided that it was time for another not so secret suflaqe...
We were met by a flock of smiling sheep heads, rotating on a spit. It surprised us that despite their rather unfortunate circumstances, they were grinning with white teeth bared...Ali was toying with the idea tucking into a head, but held off last night. He has said he will though, so watch this space!!!!
Later on that evening, the team walked down to the rocks with guitar in tow. In the most beautiful setting with the distant lights of corfu, the stars above and a mighty ocean crashing at our feet, we worshipped God until the early hours of the morning. It truly was a blessed time.
Suffice to say, a very tired team embarked on the mountainous trek to the first of our three church services for the day...ok so it wasn't acutally a mountain but in this heat and with the sarandan inclines, it might as well have been!!! The Baptist Church was fuller than usual as our mission team were joined by two others from England and America. Sion and Sarah led the congregation in three Albanian/ English songs and a representative from each team shared testimonies.
After the service, we split into two teams with half attending the Pentecostal and the other, the Greek Evangelical. Both services were good, but the team was anticipating an afternoon in the sea as it is extremely hot inside today!
This is where we must part once more our friends. As we write this blog, we are yearning for chocolate spread, feta & bread...ok so maybe not quite - im sad to say that fresh bread has lost its appeal : ( but the food is fresh and filling - until tomorrow! Carpe Diem...

Hey guys
Interesting that you've met up with other mission teams. God's obviously got His eye on Albania.
Could you somehow bring back to Reading all the ingredients to start S4C ministry here? Yesterday morning was fabulously sunshiney, so Trent and I took a picnic lunch to the riverside. We enjoyed the 20 minutes of sun before it clouded over...On the other hand, I suppose you'll enjoy the relief of rain and cool weather when you get back!
Blessings.
Hi guys,
The worship session by the sea sounds amazing. Not sure I would fancy the sheeps heads, I bet Sarah loved that experience!
Well the weather here is overcast and breezy so still no S4C here. Pleased to hear all is going well, will continue to pray for you all. Keep up the good work.

Hi there,
Sounds as if you're having a whale of a time out there in Albania - guitar on the beach - takes me back to my youth and I find myself quite envious! Not so of the spit roast which reminds me of the Ram Roasting Fairs we occasionally visited. I dont think I ever ate any of the poor unfortunate beasts. However, sheeps eyes and cheeks are a delicacy I'm told - one I can definitely forego!
Work with the churches and children sounds really exciting. We're still praying that God will bless all your socks off and reach more and more people through your faithful service. Well done guys, you are all doing a fantastic job -a real example of witness and service!
Keep up the good work.
Take care
God bless

Hi there, I am sure the chocolate spread was suggested by ALi. Would love to wire some to you!
Have been praying especially for the relationships with people. These impressions will last and seeds sown will grow for the future.
May you all know amazing joy and strength in serving Him.
Hungary was good for us. People there are carrying so much of the past history, of fear and danger. probably so in Albania. But isn't incredible that in our lifetimes the country that claimed to have abolished God is now open!
So we keep praying.
Tell Ali to keep some voice and energy for his new job!! Found Teddy so you did forget him!!
